Nov 29th 2007
Roulette Inside Bets

Inside bets are labeled on the center of the roulette table layout and also a few of these roulette betting options are labeled along the border of the table. When you are betting on roulette on the inside bets you are betting on specific numbers or combinations of numbers, more exact it means that your are placing a chip on any of the 36 numbered boxes arranged in 12 rows and three columns. You can also place bets on any line in the inside area of the table.

The odds for the inside bets vary from 38:1 to 38:6 and payoffs range from 35:1 to 5:1 but for a better explanation on betting on roulette on inside bets I will take them separately and explain each of the inside bets options.

Straight Bet, or the classic bet is a wager on just one number on the roulette wheel. This inside bet has a payout of 35:1. Even this is one of the bets in roulette with tempting payouts this is a bet with very small odds of coming up.

Split Bet – when you choose this inside bet your wager on two numbers at the same time and it payoff is of 17:1. To make a split bet just place your chips on the dividing line between the two numbers that you want to bet on

Street Bet - this wager is also named “three number bet" or "stream bet". You are betting that the ball will stop on any 3 numbers that are placed in a line horizontally. It has a payout of 11:1.

Square Bet a.k.a "four number bet" is a bet on a block of 4 numbers at the same time. Has a payout of 8:1.

Five-Number Bet - you can make this type of bet only when playing American roulette. Choosing this roulette betting option you are wagering on five numbers at the same time, but those numbers must be 0, 00, 1, 2 and 3. The house edge on this particular type of inside bet is a high 7.89% and this makes it the worst bet in roulette and you are well advised to avoid it.
