Roulette is a very simple and straight forward game. The first thing you have to do is place your bets. You must know that roulette offers two kinds of bets. The first kind is outside bets, which are easier to understand, and beginner players are advised to place these bets. The second kind is inside bets, which are more difficult.
After all the players have placed their bets, the dealer or the croupier as he is known will take the ball, place it in the roulette wheel and spin it. If you haven't already placed your bet, there is still a short amount of time you can do so. Just until the croupier calls "No more bets, please, no more bets". After that you will no longer be allowed to bet. You may try to place a bet, but the dealer will remove your bet from the table.
The game ends when the ball stops. The croupier will then place a metal object known as a "dolly" on the number where the ball stopped. This is the winning number. The croupier will then proceed to collect the losing bets and pay the winning ones. If you have won you will be paid your winnings, according to the payout schedule of your bet. Different bets have different payouts.
This is everything that happens in a round of roulette. The process is then started again and again. It is really that simple. There are no other rules, just the ones presented above. It is one of the simplest casino games. The casinos are always looking for new players, so it doesn't seem like they'll be changing it. They like to keep it simple as it attracts more players that way.
