Roulette is a slow-paced, gentle game that seems to attract a calmer and sophisticated crowd than do most of the other games in the casino.
One of the things that you should know about roulette, especially if you never played this game is that roulette is played with different chips than the others used at the rest of the casino games. Roulette chips have different colors and they have no value denomination printed on them. The roulette table comes with six to eight sets of different colored chips, each set consisting of 300 chips.
When a player buys-in they get their own color and the value would be the buy-in divided by the number of chips received. The dealer will place a lamer on top of the dealer's stack of that color of chips to indicate the value. For instance, if there is a stack of 10 blue chips with $50 printed on it, you know that the entire stack is worth $50, with each chip being worth $5. Each player is assigned his own color so that the croupier can distinguish which player made which bet at the table.
So, when you are ready to play you will need to ask from the croupier the denomination of chips you want and after he will pay the previous bets and declare the bets open at the table you will be able to start playing. You will have the option to put your wager on two types of bets, the inside bets and the outside bets and actually if you learn and understand these bets than the rest of the game will reveal his secrets in front of you straightforward.
In order to make a bet you only need to put the desired amount of chips on the preferred bet. At the roulette tables is a minimum and maximum bet that you can make. For example, if the minimum table is 10$ than you will only be permitted to place $10 bets on the outside bets, however, you can place 10 $1 bets for an inside bet.
You can bet on red or black, or you can bet on the number being even or odd. The possibilities are endless. The process of roulette betting is not a complicated one, you are given a good length of time at the table to choose where you want to place your chips.
All players at the table are allowed to place bets until the dealer will wave his hand over the table and say out loud "no more bets!" and that is when the ball falls in a numbered spot. After, the dealer will pay the winners and take the chips from the ones unlucky. Then, he will declare again the table open and a new round may start.
After you finished playing at the roulette table you should always remember to change the roulette chips with normal chips at the croupier and that especially if you want to go to play another game in the casino, because the roulette table are the only ones who use the colored chips and at another game, blackjack for example they cannot be used.
When the ball does come to a rest, the dealer will pay off the winners, and take the chips from the losers.
Roulette is a very easy game to learn, which is why it is so popular. It is a very social game as well, as opposed to say, Texas Hold'Em Poker. Give it a shot, you'll have some fun.
