Play Texas Hold’Em Sit and Go poker and walk away with a profit

The good thing about participating in Texas Hold’Em Sit and Go tournaments is that you get to learn Texas Hold’Em and improve your poker play. In this article we will talk about several tips that you can use your Sit and Go poker tournaments and improve your chances of winning.

The truth of the matter is that Texas Hold’Em Sit and Go tournaments are just an accelerated version of a Texas Hold’Em multi-table tournament. You get to play a large number of hands in a short amount of time.

In a typical Texas Hold’Em tournament you may not last long enough, and consequently you may not get to play a large number of hands. But in a Sit and Go tournament you get to play a large number of hands and you get a feel for what is going on in the tournament.

We have split Sit and Go tournaments into three parts:

- the beginning;
- the middle;
- the end.

Everyone has the same chip stack in the beginning of the tournament. The chip stack is large compared to the blinds, and as a consequence you are free to play as you wish.

You will always want to win the pot. You are playing to win, after all. But you must remember that when taking part in a Sit and Go tournament it is a lot more important to win pots later in the game. The incentive to in the pot is not that big in the beginning, because the blinds and the pots are smaller.

Later in the game you will want to have plenty of chips. The reason for that is very strategic. There will be the same number of chips, but fewer players at the table. This means that on average, the players still sitting at the table will have a lot more chips than they gad in the beginning of the tournament.

Later in the game doubling up your chip stack will have more impact. You’ll also have to win many more pots to do so in the beginning. But later on all it takes is winning a couple of pots and you will double up your chips stack.

The blinds go up very fast in Sit and Go tournaments. That is why you should pay attention in the beginning of the tournament. You will find yourself in a lot of trouble when the blinds increase if you lose your chips early in the game.

Some poker players do not even play in the beginning. They simply fold every hand and wait for the tournament to progress and the blinds to increase. This way they hope of winning one or two pots later on. These guys are playing extremely tight, but I guess there are other worse strategies out there.
