Norway is thinking over the legislation banning online gambling websites, strengthening the enforcement of Internet gaming including access to site as well as not allowing online gaming financial transactions.
The anticipated law is the creation of Norway's Culture minister, Trond Giske, who in 2006 tried to outlaw slot machines. The new online gambling bill would follow and exceed the U.S. UIGEA. In Scandinavia, there have been varied opinions regarding online gambling. For example, a court in Denmark ruled poker a skill game this year, while Sweden has tried to stop illegal poker activities.
