American Wheel - American wheels have all the numbers 1 to 36 on them, plus 0 and 00. They are different from the European wheels because of the 00 slot. European wheels do not have this slot. Because of the 00 you can make 5 number bets.

Ball - This term refers to the small, white ball that is spun in the roulette wheel. The ball will stop on a certain number on the roulette wheel and that will be the winning number. According to that number you will either win or lose your bet.

Column Bet - You have placed a bet on 12 numbers that make up a vertical column on the roulette layout. If you win you will receive a payout of 2-to-1.

Combination Bet - You have placed a various bets at a time on different outcomes of the spin.

Corner Bet - You have placed a bet on four numbers that are next to each other, in the corner of the table layout. If you win you will receive a payout of 8-to-1.

Dozen Bet - You have placed a bet on 12 numbers at a time. These numbers are 1 to 12, 13 to 24, or 25 to 36. This type of bet resembles a column bet.

European Wheel - A European wheel has all the numbers 1 to 36 on it, plus 0. European wheels do not have the 00 slot like American wheels have. Because of this missing slot European wheels offer better odds for the player.

Even - Odd Bet - You have bet that the winning number will be either even or odd. If you win you will receive a payout of 1-to-1.

High - Low Bet - The numbers 1 to 18 are known as low numbers. The numbers 19 to 36 are known as high numbers. When placing a High-Low bet you are wagering that the winning number will be either a low or a high number. If you win you will receive a payout of 1-to-1.

Inside Bet - You have placed a bet on any of the 36 numbers on the roulette layout.

Outside Bet - You have placed a red, black, odd, even, or any other bet that is different from an inside bet.

Red-Black Bet - You have bet that the winning number will be either red or black. If you win you will receive a payout of 1-to-1.

Split Bet - You have placed a bet on two numbers. You will win if the ball stops on one of these numbers.

Straight Up Bet - You have placed a bet on only one number. If you win you will receive a payout of 35-to-1.

Trio Bet - You have placed a bet on three numbers. You will win if the ball stops on one of these numbers.

Zero, Double Zero - You will find the 0 and 00 slots placed at opposite sides of the roulette wheel. These slots are colored green. Only American wheels have the 00 slot.
